intercultural creative art bridge
Our project is based on art, endangered art and culture and arts and cultural education at schools. We focus on the role of arts education in forming the basic skills and key competences for young people for life in the 21st century.
Preserving our art and cultural heritage is a responsibility that shouldn't be taken for granted. The most important thing of art and cultural education should be to study and preserve endangered art and cultural heritage from one generation to the next. In arts and cultural education, the Four Cs need to be fully integrated into classrooms, schools and districts around the country to produce citizens and employees adequately prepared for the 21st century.
There are art and crafts that form part of our cultural heritage which are in real danger of dying out. The skills and techniques required are known by only a few crafts people who become older and retire from their work and there is no one coming into the craft to take their place. In this project we want to investigate and learn these endangered arts and culture to keep them alive and to transfer them to the new generations to preserve them throughout the world.
The researches and analysis on arts and cultural education show that arts and culture develop young people’s artistic skills, knowledge, critical appreciation; an understanding of cultural heritage and cultural diversity; individual expression; and creativity (imagination, problem-solving and risk-taking) and also social skills, communication skills, enjoyment, engaging with a variety of art forms and environmental awareness. The existing culture and artworks of European nations will help us to fully awaken the potential inherent in our students, regardless of their backgrounds or academic skills, develop their Four Cs.
